Bobcat Badge

We don't really have a Bobcat Den.  The Bobcat badge is the first rank a Cub would earn before Wolf, Bear or Webelos.  It is for new scouts and graduated Tigers.

The Bobcat requirements are fairly simple and given somewhere near the front of your Wolf, Bear or Webelos Handbook.  To earn the badge, you will need to learn the Cub Scout Promise, the Law of the Pack, the Cub Scout Motto, and the Cub Scout Sign, Salute and Handshake.

The Cub Scout Promise

I, [your name], promise

To do my best

To do my duty to God

And my country,

To help other people, and

To obey the Law of the Pack.

The Law of the Pack

The Cub Scout follows Akela.

The Cub Scout helps the pack go.

The pack helps the Cub Scout grow.

The Cub Scout gives goodwill.

The Cub Scout Motto

Do Your Best.

The Cub Scout Sign

Make the sign with your right hand, holding your arm straight up.  The two extended fingers stand for two points of the Cub Scout Promise - help and obey.  Give the sign whenever you repeat the Cub Scout Promise or the Law of the Pack.

The sign may also be used as "Akela's Ears" to signal time for scouts to listen and give attention to the leader.
